Inaugurated in Cairo on Sunday, the high-level forum brought together key government officials, business leaders, and investors from both nations. Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Hassan El-Khatib, and Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Trade, Omar Hejira, led the discussions, underscoring their countries’ commitment to unlocking new economic potential across North Africa.
El-Khatib acknowledged the existing disparities particularly Morocco’s export surplus and emphasized the need for joint strategies to create a more equitable and dynamic trade relationship. He also pointed to key frameworks such as the Agadir Agreement and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) as vital tools for boosting market access and forging cross-border industrial alliances.

Beyond trade, both ministers framed the forum as a strategic move toward sustainable development, economic resilience, and deeper regional integration a timely initiative amid global economic uncertainty.
