In a major leap toward bridging Zambia’s digital divide, Huawei has launched a cutting-edge cloud-powered artificial intelligence (AI) system to deliver smart education to underserved rural communities.
Chinese tech giant Huawei has unveiled a transformative AI-powered education initiative in Zambia, designed to make quality learning accessible to students in even the most remote regions.
At a summit focused on digital inclusion in education, Lei Yang, Huawei’s Vice President for Sub-Saharan Africa, emphasized that the cloud-enhanced AI will offer a more personalized and adaptable learning experience. “ In the context of Zambia's education system, the cloud-enhanced AI offers transformative solutions and makes learning more personalized," he stated.
The AI solution promises real-time access to educational content, curriculum optimization, and even language translation capabilities, vital features in a multilingual nation like Zambia. By aligning digital innovation with education, Huawei aims to create inclusive classrooms that respond to varied learning needs.
Noriana Muneku, Permanent Secretary for Administration in the Ministry of Education, lauded Huawei’s two-decade-long commitment to Zambia’s digital growth and expressed optimism that this new initiative will deepen the sector's ongoing transformation.
As Huawei continues to expand its footprint in Zambia’s education landscape, this cloud-AI initiative marks a significant stride toward equitable learning for all.
