InTouch Group has secured multiple high-level regulatory approvals across Africa, marking a major step forward in its ambition to expand secure, accessible digital payment services across the continent.

The West African fintech company has been granted an Electronic Money Institution (EMI) license by the Central Bank of West African States (BCEAO) in Senegal. In addition, it has received Payment Institution (EDP) status in Côte d’Ivoire, Mali, and Burkina Faso, enabling it to broaden its footprint in the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA) region.

“These approvals represent much more than simple recognition of our work. They embody our commitment to transforming Africa’s financial landscape,” said Omar Cisse, CEO of InTouch Group. “We remain resolutely focused on innovation to offer high-quality, personalized payment solutions.”

The newly acquired licenses will allow the company to offer digital financial services to a broader range of users, from small merchants and informal traders to large enterprises, while complying with regulatory standards across different jurisdictions.

The group also announced that it has secured a license as a money transfer institution in Guinea from the Central Bank of the Republic of Guinea (BCRG), as well as Payment Service Provider (PSP) status in Tanzania from the Bank of Tanzania (BOT). These developments underscore the company’s growing presence in East Africa and its ability to navigate diverse financial regulatory frameworks.

With operations in 27 African countries, InTouch Group is positioning itself as a leading pan-African player in omnichannel B2B payments. Its platform integrates multiple payment methods, including mobile money, cards, and banking services, into a single system that enables merchants and businesses to manage transactions efficiently.

In addition to regulatory compliance, InTouch Group maintains high international standards in cybersecurity and data protection. The company holds ISO/IEC 27001 certification for information security management and complies with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). It is also a Visa-approved Payment Facilitator, further enabling it to support the digitization of merchant payment services at scale.

“Together, we will continue to push the boundaries of innovation and build the future of payments in Africa,” Cisse added.
