In a bold move set to reshape Africa’s digital innovation landscape, Tier 5 Technologies has partnered with global database giant MongoDB to unlock the continent’s rapidly growing digital economy, estimated to hit $100 billion in value.

At the heart of this alliance lies a shared vision to provide enterprises with cutting-edge infrastructure that supports scale, agility, and digital transformation across sectors.

The strategic collaboration was formally launched during the “Legacy Modernisation Day” in Lagos, Nigeria, a symbolic choice given Nigeria’s role as a leading tech hub in West Africa. The event spotlighted the urgency of modernizing legacy systems to meet the demands of Africa’s evolving enterprise ecosystem.

Anders Irlander Fabry, MongoDB’s Regional Director for the Middle East and Africa, underscored the significance of the partnership in deepening MongoDB’s regional impact. “Tier 5 Technologies brings a proven track record, a strong local network, and a clear commitment to MongoDB as their preferred data platform,” Fabry said.

Tier 5 Technologies has already made tangible investments into the alliance, including hiring MongoDB-certified specialists and closing landmark enterprise deals in Nigeria. These moves point to a fast-track strategy to scale digital adoption in the region.

Afolabi Bolaji, Director of Sales at Tier 5 Technologies, framed the partnership as a catalyst for long-term digital transformation across sectors like fintech, logistics, artificial intelligence, and edtech.

“We’ve made significant investments in MongoDB because we believe it will power the next generation of African innovation,” Bolaji said.

He emphasized that the partnership also signals a changing narrative around Africa’s tech ecosystem.

With MongoDB’s global reach and Tier 5’s local strength, the partnership marks a significant step toward reimagining how data, infrastructure, and innovation converge on the continent and positions both firms as key architects of Africa’s digital future.
