Supporting him were Soufiane Charraoui, Othman Idrissi, and Anass Dahani, each adding a goal to seal Morocco’s statement win against the reigning 2021 world champions.

“I’m very happy with this first-ever win against Portugal, who are ranked third in the world,” said head coach Hicham Dguig in a post-match interview with Moroccan sports channel Arriyadia.
