In a strategic move to unlock Inhambane's vast tourism potential, Mozambique and Greece have signed a game-changing memorandum of understanding (MoU) focused on investment, job creation, and professional training for young people.

The agreement, signed in Maputo, marks a new chapter in Inhambane's transformation into a premier tourist destination. The ceremony brought together Francisco Pagula, Governor of Inhambane, and Gerry Marketos, Honorary Consul General of Greece in Mozambique, underlining the high-level commitment to this initiative.

The MoU places a strong emphasis on vocational training, aiming to equip young Mozambicans with the skills needed to thrive in the tourism sector. By preparing youth for the job market, the partnership seeks to reduce unemployment and promote inclusive growth.

Gerry Marketos, representing the Mozambique-Greece Chamber of Commerce, assured that Greek investors are eager to contribute to Inhambane’s sustainable development.

The partnership is expected to generate hundreds of direct and indirect jobs, enhancing the local economy while preserving the cultural and environmental richness of Inhambane.

With its natural beauty, coastline, and cultural heritage, Inhambane is now poised to shine on the global tourism map, backed by a bold bilateral vision and a shared commitment to sustainable development.
