Chiamaka Nnadozie is once again standing tall between the posts and the accolades are following. The Nigerian shot-stopper has been nominated for the Best Goalkeeper award in the French Arkema Premier League for the second consecutive season.
After making history last year by clinching the prestigious award ahead of elite rivals Christiane Endler of Olympique Lyon and Katarzyna Kiedrzynek of Paris Saint-Germain, Nnadozie is back in the spotlight. The Paris FC star also scooped the National Union of Professional Footballers’ Best Goalkeeper award, cementing her place among Europe’s finest.
This season, the 24-year-old will battle for the crown against Paris Saint-Germain’s Mary Earps and Olympique Lyon’s Christiane Endler once more. Nnadozie has kept an impressive 10 clean sheets, closely trailing Endler’s 13, while Earps holds eight.
Since her move to France from Nigeria’s Rivers Angels in 2020, Nnadozie has not only elevated Paris FC’s ambitions but also her own status, winning the CAF Awards’ Best Goalkeeper title two years running.
As the final whistle for the season approaches, Nnadozie is once again proving that when it comes to world-class goalkeeping, she is in a league of her own.
