President William Ruto has made a powerful call for greater intra-African trade, urging the continent to unlock its immense economic potential by investing in itself and speaking with one voice on the global stage.

Addressing the opening of the World Chambers Federation Africa Summit 2025 in Nairobi, Ruto emphasized the urgency of building integrated, investor-friendly economies through streamlined business environments and strategic human capital investment.

“We are streamlining business processes to foster a more efficient and investor-friendly environment where enterprises can thrive,” he said, adding that the government is actively listening to entrepreneurs through the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Ruto underscored the importance of intra-African collaboration, stressing that African nations must leverage their collective strength to shape their future sustainably and innovatively.

Held under the theme “Africa’s Global Future: Integrated, Innovative, and Sustainable,” the summit has drawn business leaders, investors, and policymakers from across the continent. Discussions are focused on deepening regional trade, fostering innovation, and driving sustainable development.

Also speaking at the event, Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja encouraged investment in the Kenyan capital, touting its strategic role as a regional hub with unmatched connectivity and opportunities.

President Ruto’s rallying cry set the tone for a summit charged with ambition a bold vision of an Africa that trades more with itself, invests in its people, and takes its rightful place on the world stage.
