Rwanda ICT Chamber Partners with the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the Government of Luxembourg to Launch the Innovate4DigiJobs initiative
The Rwanda ICT Chamber, in partnership with the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the Government of Luxembourg, has launched Innovate4DigiJobs, an initiative designed not just to spark innovation but to create real employment opportunities for young Rwandans in the digital economy.
More than a challenge, Innovate4DigiJobs is a national call to action: empowering young innovators to design tech-based solutions that solve real problems, lift communities, and drive sustainable growth.
“Innovate4DigiJobs is not just about winning a competition, it’s about the impact we’re targeting,” said Alex Ntale, CEO of the Rwanda ICT Chamber. “If your passion is about changing lives, not just chasing profits, we want to make sure you’re not left behind.”
The initiative places inclusion at its core, recognizing the importance of accessible and equitable participation in the digital economy. Fatima Elsanousi Sirelkhatim, Project Manager for the ILO in Rwanda, stressed the importance of leaving no one behind: “As the digital economy grows, it is vital to ensure inclusive growth.”
Government representatives echoed the need for responsible innovation. Ngabo Brave, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Youth and Arts, highlighted the dual responsibility of possessing digital skills and applying them with purpose: “It would be unfortunate to have digital skills and apply them in the wrong way. Innovate4DigiJobs paves a meaningful path for young people to leverage their digital talents the right way.”
The program is open to a diverse range of actors, including TVET institutions, cooperatives, social enterprises, business development providers, and employer or worker organizations. The application deadline has been extended to June 27, 2025, and submissions can be made via ictchamber.rw/innovate4jobs-application-form.
