TD Africa, a leading tech distribution company in sub-Saharan Africa, celebrated the graduation of 400 young women from its flagship TecHERdemy program, reinforcing its commitment to fostering inclusivity in the tech industry. The maiden ceremony, held at Yudala Heights, Victoria Island, Lagos, marked a milestone in empowering Nigerian women with globally relevant digital skills.

Over the past six months, the graduates underwent intensive training in cybersecurity, data science, artificial intelligence, and software development. Now equipped with cutting-edge skills, they are poised to make significant contributions to Africa’s tech landscape. The event drew industry leaders, including Dr. Leo Stan Ekeh, Chairman of the Zinox Group, who praised the graduates’ resilience and described them as “pioneers of a new, inclusive era of tech leadership on the continent.”

Mrs. Chioma Ekeh, CEO of TD Africa, urged the graduates to uphold integrity and innovation in their careers. “Let your values guide your work, let innovation fuel your dreams, and let your impact speak louder than your résumé,” she said. Graduates shared transformative stories, with Yetunde Kayode, a newly certified data scientist, noting, “This program changed my life. I’m walking away empowered, skilled, and deeply grateful.”

Fifteen participants were honored for their outstanding performance and leadership. Launched in November 2024, TecHERdemy aims to bridge the gender gap in tech by equipping young women with skills and opportunities. The graduation not only celebrated the program’s success but also signaled the start of a broader movement for inclusive tech leadership in Africa.
