Tesla Launches First Regional Office in Casablanca, Morocco
Tesla has powered up its African journey with the official launch of its first regional office in Casablanca, Morocco, a bold move signaling the electric vehicle (EV) giant’s intention to drive the future of mobility and sustainable energy across the continent.
Registered on May 27, 2025, Tesla Morocco is backed by Tesla International B.V. and Tesla Motors Netherlands B.V., with a starting capital of MAD 27.5 million (around USD 2.75 million). The new office will coordinate sales, servicing, charging infrastructure, and distribution of Tesla’s clean energy solutions across North and Sub-Saharan Africa.
Tesla’s entry into Africa is more than just a market expansion; it’s a strategic bet on a continent rapidly investing in green energy, digital transformation, and sustainable infrastructure. Morocco, with its advanced renewable energy policies, thriving automotive ecosystem, and growing EV infrastructure, provides the perfect springboard for Tesla’s continental ambitions.
“Morocco offers Tesla a strong foundation for long-term growth,” the company stated, citing the country’s commitment to clean energy, pro-investment environment, and well-established auto industry.
Tesla Morocco will offer end-to-end support for electric vehicles from importation and after-sales services to the expansion of EV supercharger networks. The office will also manage the distribution of Tesla’s solar panels, battery storage units, and energy systems, creating a locally integrated ecosystem. It will serve as a training and technical support hub for African operations.
This is not Tesla’s first move in Morocco. In 2021, it quietly introduced hybrid superchargers in Casablanca and Tangier, later expanding to Rabat, Fez, Marrakesh, and Agadir. The new regional headquarters, however, formalizes Tesla’s presence and sets the stage for broader deployment of its energy and mobility technologies.
The subsidiary is co-managed by Rafael Arqueza Martin and Shahin Oliver Khorshidpanah, reflecting Tesla’s approach of fusing global leadership with local execution.
