Ecobank Rwanda and DHL Express Rwanda have partnered to equip micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) with the tools, skills, and networks needed to compete in the global marketplace.

Unveiled at Ecobank’s Kigali headquarters, the initiative is more than a typical corporate collaboration; it’s a strategic push to transform Rwanda’s MSMEs into resilient, export-ready businesses. By merging Ecobank’s financial acumen with DHL’s international logistics expertise, the program targets one critical goal: turning local business ambition into international success.

“This is about more than loans. We want to give our clients the knowledge to manage their finances and grow sustainable businesses,” said Emmanuel Maboneza, Head of Commercial Banking and Branches at Ecobank Rwanda. 

The program offers comprehensive support, including: Customized capacity-building workshops that tackle real-world business obstacles, Financial literacy training to improve money management and strategic planning, Access to digital platforms and market data to help businesses make informed decisions, and Guidance on cross-border logistics and international trade regulations.

This partnership marks a shift in how banks and corporates engage MSMEs, moving beyond transactional relationships toward holistic empowerment. It reflects a growing trend in Rwanda’s development strategy: nurturing entrepreneurs not just as borrowers, but as builders of inclusive, export-driven growth.

With thousands of MSMEs forming the backbone of Rwanda’s economy, the Ecobank-DHL collaboration promises to be a catalyst for sustainable progress, one that connects local innovation to global opportunity.
