Tunisia has launched a new unified digital platform to track the real-time progress of public development projects, in a move Prime Minister Sarra Zaâfrani Zenzri described as a “decisive shift” in government transparency and service delivery.

The announcement was made during a Cabinet meeting held Saturday at the Government Palace in Kasbah. According to the Prime Minister, the platform will enable officials and citizens to monitor project implementation through a central dashboard that displays timelines, completion rates, and key milestones. The system aims to address persistent delays and inefficiencies in public sector projects across Tunisia’s governorates.

The Prime Minister also emphasized that monitoring public projects would now become a core priority of her office, as part of a broader strategy to stimulate public investment, attract private capital, and ensure balanced economic and social development across the nation.

In a significant policy shift, Zaâfrani also announced that the country’s next five-year development plan (2026–2030) would be developed through a bottom-up participatory process. Local councils will initiate proposals, which will then be reviewed at the regional and district levels before inclusion in the national plan.

The Cabinet meeting also reviewed progress in several key sectors, including health, transport, education, ICT, agriculture, industry, mining, and renewable energy. Special attention was given to industrial zone development and solar energy projects.

Zaâfrani voiced concern over persistent delays affecting multiple projects and stressed the urgent need to streamline public administration and eliminate bureaucratic inefficiencies. She warned that public servants who fail to fulfill their responsibilities would be held accountable.

The Prime Minister also called for urgent action to improve daily public services, including the supply of drinking water and electricity, particularly during public holidays and celebrations when disruptions are most keenly felt.

She tasked governors, delegates, and local administrators with taking a more hands-on role in project oversight and responding swiftly to citizens’ needs.

The digital platform is expected to roll out in phases across the country, with initial data integration from ongoing projects in priority sectors.
